Education & Literacy
At Dehkada Organization for Humanitarian Aid (DOHA), we believe that education is the foundation of empowerment, peace, and long-term development. In Afghanistan, where decades of conflict have disrupted schooling and left millions of children and adults without access to learning opportunities, DOHA is working tirelessly to bridge the gap—one classroom, one student, and one community at a time.
Our Education & Literacy programs aim to ensure that every child—regardless of gender, background, or location—has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We also focus on adult literacy, especially for women, to break the cycle of poverty and enable families to make informed decisions about their health, income, and future.
🎓 What We Do:
-
Community-Based Education (CBE)
Establishing informal and formal classrooms in underserved or conflict-affected areas where schools are inaccessible or non-existent. -
School Supplies & Learning Materials
Providing books, notebooks, backpacks, and educational kits to children who cannot afford basic learning tools. -
Adult Literacy Programs
Offering literacy classes to adults—particularly women—who missed the opportunity to attend school, empowering them to read, write, and engage actively in community life. -
Girls’ Education Support
Creating safe, supportive learning environments and raising awareness to encourage families to send their daughters to school. -
Teacher Training & Capacity Building
Training community educators and volunteer teachers with practical teaching methodologies, classroom management, and curriculum development. -
Education in Emergencies
Ensuring continued access to education during crises through temporary learning centers, accelerated learning programs, and psychosocial support for displaced children.
🎯 Our Objectives:
- Increase access to quality education in remote and marginalized communities
- Reduce illiteracy rates, especially among women and youth
- Promote gender equity in education
- Support community ownership and long-term sustainability of education initiatives
Education is not only a human right—it’s a pathway to peace, stability, and opportunity. At DOHA, we see every learner as a future leader, and every book as a building block for a better tomorrow.
