Community Development Projects

At Dehkada Organization for Humanitarian Aid (DOHA), we believe that real and lasting change begins at the community level. Our Community Development Projects aim to build resilient, self-reliant, and empowered communities by addressing local needs, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing the quality of life for all—especially the most vulnerable.

In a country like Afghanistan, where years of conflict and poverty have left deep-rooted challenges, community development is more than infrastructure—it is about restoring dignity, strengthening social ties, and creating opportunities for growth. DOHA works directly with community members, local councils, elders, and youth to co-create projects that are locally driven, culturally appropriate, and long-lasting.

🛠️ Our Key Areas of Community Development Include:

  • Infrastructure & Rehabilitation
Small-scale construction projects such as water wells, sanitation facilities, community halls, irrigation systems, and access roads that improve daily life and access to essential services.

  • Capacity Building & Training
Skill-building workshops, leadership development, and community mobilization sessions to equip individuals—especially women and youth—with tools to contribute to and lead local initiatives.

  • Youth & Women Empowerment Centers
Establishing safe spaces where women and youth can gather, learn, and launch initiatives in health, education, entrepreneurship, and social change.

  • Environmental Protection Projects
Community-led efforts focused on environmental conservation, tree planting, waste management, and awareness campaigns on sustainability and disaster risk reduction.

  • Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion
Promoting dialogue, tolerance, and cooperation through inclusive programs that reduce tensions and encourage unity within diverse communities.

  • Support to Local Livelihoods
Creation of income-generating projects, agricultural cooperatives, and vocational training centers that strengthen local economies and reduce dependency on external aid.
