Climate Resilience

Afghanistan faces increasing climate-related threats, including droughts, floods, harsh winters, and environmental degradation. These challenges severely impact vulnerable families, especially those living in rural and low-income areas.
At the Dehkada Organization for Humanitarian Aid (DOHA), our Climate Resilience Program is dedicated to helping communities adapt, prepare, and thrive in the face of climate change.

Our Climate Resilience Work

1. Climate-Smart Agriculture

We support farmers with sustainable agriculture methods that protect the environment and improve food security, including:

  • Drought-resistant crops

  • Efficient irrigation and water-saving techniques

  • Soil and land conservation practices

2. Water Resource Protection

Water scarcity worsens each year. DOHA works to:

  • Improve access to clean water

  • Promote rainwater harvesting

  • Train families in water conservation and safe usage

3. Environmental Restoration

To combat deforestation and environmental damage, we engage communities in:

  • Tree-planting campaigns

  • Protection of natural resources

  • Awareness programs on environmental care

4. Disaster Preparedness

Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent. Our teams help communities prepare by:

  • Delivering emergency preparedness training

  • Supporting flood and winterization activities

  • Raising awareness about early-warning systems

5. Community Education

We believe resilience begins with knowledge. DOHA provides:

  • Climate change awareness sessions

  • School and community education programs

  • Training on adaptation and environmental protection

Our Goal

To build stronger, safer, and more sustainable communities that can withstand climate challenges and protect the environment for future generations.
